The Oklahoma City Blue (12-11) fell to the Iowa Wolves (11-9), 124-102, on Tuesday night, snapping a four-game win streak.
Oklahoma City was up 53-51 at halftime before Iowa came out on an 8-0 run. The Blue responded with a 7-0 run of their own before an Amile Jefferson three-pointer led to 11 unanswered points for the Wolves, seven of which came from Jefferson, that would give the home team a lead it would not relinquish.
Jefferson finished with a double-double of 20 points and 18 rebounds while two-way player Anthony Brown led Iowa with 35 points on 10-of-16 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Blue came out hot to start the game, shooting 57.1 percent from the floor in the first quarter, which saw nine of two-way player Daniel Hamilton’s 14 points. Iowa held the lead for less than 20 seconds in the first half of play as OKC went up by as many as six points.
PJ Dozier set a new career-high with 19 points on 8-of-14 shooting and tacked on seven rebounds, three assists and two steals. Myke Henry matched Dozier’s 19 points, going 6-for-9 from the field, 4-for-6 from long range and adding four rebounds of his own.
Oklahoma City had six players in double figures who helped the Blue to outscore the Wolves 54-42 in the paint and 16-9 off the fast break.
The Blue will finish its road trip by traveling to Memphis to take on the Hustle on Thursday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at Landers Center in Southaven, Miss.
