OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 29, 2020 – The Oklahoma City Blue (19-19) earned a 122-107 victory against the Iowa Wolves (17-22) on Saturday night, extending its home win streak to four games.
Oklahoma City saw a double-digit lead trimmed to just four points late in the third quarter before a dunk from Thunder assignment player Deonte Burton kicked off a 7-0 run for the Blue. The lead would balloon to as many as 20 points in the final frame behind 15 fourth-quarter points from Markel Brown.
“Our depth and our athleticism kept the pedal to the metal, and it wore them down,” Head Coach Grant Gibbs said. “We continued to attack the rim, that’s what we always want to do, but I thought we had a lot of fire to do that and a lot of guys contributed.”
Burton finished with seven points, four rebounds and two blocks while Brown turned in 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Devon Hall led the Blue with 20 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Oklahoma City was up by as many as 24 points in the first half and led 62-47 at halftime. DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and Myke Henry lead the Blue in the first half with 11 points apiece and finished with 17 points and 13 points respectively.
