Hamilton, Henry Help Blue Rise Over Stars

The Oklahoma City Blue (11-10) defeated the Salt Lake City Stars (3-19) by a score of 117-103 on Friday night inside the Lifetime Activities Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

After falling behind early 5-0, the Blue took control with 10 unanswered points and were able to close the first quarter with a 32-21 advantage. Two-way player Daniel Hamilton was aggressive from the jump, leading the charge with 12 first-quarter points on 5-of-6 shooting, including 2-for-2 from three-point range. He finished the game with season-high 28 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The second quarter saw more of the same as the Blue scored a season-high 40 points and expanded their lead to 72-46 at the break.

Myke Henry recorded a double-double for the Blue with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists. Two-way player PJ Dozier finished with 12 points, five assists and four rebounds while going a perfect 3-for-3 from the field.

The Stars were able to stay competitive in the second half, at one point cutting the lead to 11, but the Blue proved to be too much as they were able to hold on for the 14-point victory.

Jazz two-way player Erik McCree was the leading scorer for the Stars, ending the game with 21 points and six rebounds.

The Blue will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 31, tipping off against the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 5 p.m. at Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
