Efficient Shooting Sends Oklahoma City Over Memphis

SOUTHAVEN, Miss., Dec. 10, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (8-7) beat the Memphis Hustle (6-8), 127-123, in a Sunday afternoon matinee.

The Blue never trailed in the game, seeing its lead grow to as many as 26 points in the second half. The Hustle made things interesting in the fourth quarter, going on a 13-0 run and trimming the Blue’s advantage to only four points with one minute left. Bryce Alford banked in a three-pointer to stop the Hustle’s comeback.

Alford scored a career-high 35 points off the bench on 11-of-15 shooting from the field. Dusty Hannahs led Memphis with 23 points.

The Blue jumped out to a 30-20 lead after the first quarter, with Alford scoring 13 points in the frame. When the Hustle trimmed the lead to five points midway through the second, OKC went on a 21-7 run, to take a 61-50 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Two-way player Daniel Hamilton led the way for the Blue in the second quarter scoring 10 points. He finished the game with 12 points and six rebounds.

The Blue controlled the paint, outscoring the Hustle 62-42. OKC shot a season-high 56.1 percent from the field.

Oklahoma City heads home to face the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
