Blue Prevails in Back-and-Forth Affair

OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 12, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (25-11) defeated the Santa Cruz Warriors (18-15), 105-96, on Sunday night.

The Warriors pulled within three points of the Blue, 91-88, with 4:23 left in the game. Daniel Hamilton and Kameron Woods each hit three-pointers to secure Oklahoma City’s lead.

Hamilton finished with 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Woods turned in nine points and six rebounds.

The score went back-and-forth for most of the evening, with 11 ties and 11 lead changes in the game.

Oklahoma City took its biggest first-half lead at 24-19 early in the second quarter, but Santa Cruz went on a 14-4 run to close the half and the Blue went into the locker room trailing, 51-41.

Reggie Williams led the Blue on a 7-0 run midway through the third to tie the game. He finished with a team-leading 22 points and added five rebounds and three assists.

Oklahoma City closed out the third on another 7-0 run, capped off by a three from Alex Caruso, and went into the final quarter leading 81-74.

Caruso led the team with eight assists to go along with nine points. Dakari Johnson turned in 11 points in the third, finishing with 21 points and seven rebounds.

Oklahoma City returns home to face the Warriors on Tuesday, February 14, at 7 p.m. in the Cox Convention Center.
