OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 29, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (4-6) fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors (7-5), 123-113, on Wednesday night.
Oklahoma City trailed for most of the game but chipped away at a double-digit deficit and only trailed 105-99 with just over two minutes left in the fourth. A three from Quinn Cook and a dunk from Damian Jones put the Warriors back up 11.
“I thought we dug ourselves a hole a little bit in the second quarter,” Head Coach Mark Daigneault said. “I was pleased with the way we came out of halftime. We were more competitive and played with a level of toughness.”
Two-way player Cook led Santa Cruz with a game-high 32 points and 11 assists while assignment player Jones turned in 21 points.
The Blue started the game on a 10-2 run, but the Warriors responded and eventually took a 31-29 lead to end the first quarter. Oklahoma City wouldn’t lead again in the game.
Leading the Blue was Daniel Hamilton who scored 22 points, 17 of which came in the second half, to go along with nine rebounds and seven assists. He was one of seven in double figures including Mike Cobbins, who scored a career-high 13 points.
The Blue will face the Salt Lake City Stars on Friday, Dec. 1 in the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m.
