GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Nov. 21, 2017 – The Oklahoma City Blue (3-4) defeated the Grand Rapids Drive (4-5), 122-112, on Tuesday night to earn its first road win of the season.
The Blue held a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter, but behind 14 fourth-quarter points from Henry Ellenson, the Drive trimmed OKC’s lead to five points with over five minutes left in the game. Two-way player Daniel Hamilton scored on consecutive possessions to put the game out of reach for the Drive.
Hamilton scored 15 of his 20 points after halftime, adding 11 rebounds and nine assists, his fourth double-double of the season. Ellenson led the way for the Drive, scoring a game-high 31 points.
Oklahoma City opened the game strong and led 35-28 after the first as Chris Wright scored 13 points in the quarter. The second quarter saw nine ties and five lead changes, but Wright added seven more in the quarter to send the Blue into halftime up, 63-59.
Wright scored a season-high 26 points to go along with six rebounds. He was one of six Blue players in double figures, including Bryce Alford who turned in a career-high 21 points.
Oklahoma City tallied a season-high 16 steals. Forward Rashawn Thomas turned in five of those steals to go along with 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Oklahoma City returns to the Cox Convention Center on Friday, Nov. 24 to face the Erie Bayhawks at 2 p.m.
